Transformation begins the moment you feel truly seen, heard, and understood. My psychotherapy practice is a place of compassion, clarity, and growth—where you’ll be met with warmth, respect, free of judgment.
I use a blend of traditional and alternative therapeutic methods, grounded in the understanding that OPTIMAL mental health involves the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. I pay special attention to the gut-brain connection and the role it plays in energy, happiness and emotional resilience.
Whether you’re seeking support as an individual or in a relationship, I help clients build resilience, deepen connection, and create more fulfilling lives.
Sessions take place in a quiet, natural, peaceful setting , fostering meaningful transformation—and you’ll often be greeted by my gentle therapy dog, OWEN, who brings love, presence, and a living lesson in mindfulness to each visit.
The following issues are addressed:
If you’re ready to take the next step toward healing and growth, I invite
you to reach out and schedule a consultation. You’ll speak with me directly right from the start and I take the time to understand what you’re looking for and help you feel comfortable. This personal connection is an important part of the care I offer, and it begins the moment you pick up the phone.
Let’s begin your journey toward a more grounded, connected, and fulfilling life.
Couples counseling can help you have a more fulfilling, loving relationship based on the foundation of a trust and respect. If you are in a committed relationship it is never, to soon to seek help. Unfortunately, many people find counseling as a last resort to making their relationship work. Instead couples may have prevented much agony and pain had they sought help sooner.
Families seek counseling to resolve conflict and enrich their relationships with their children, spouse, siblings, and parents. Family counseling allows for everyone to have a voice in the family so they can play a part in improving communication and promote closer, richer relationships.
Dr. Susan helps clients achieve their goals by taking a non-pathological perspective and views clients problems in the context of their lives and relationships. As a team, she and her clients collaborate to break problematic patterns of behavior, develop new coping strategies, increase self confidence, address life style issues, and improve relationships, heal from trauma, manage addictions.
Several types types of grief counseling are offered ie. divorce, lost hope, death of a loved one, to name a few. In addition, a specialized type of therapy that we offer for loss of a loved one was developed by Dr. Allan Botkin; IADC Therapy is a brief, intensive intervention for grieving clients. As a derivative of EMDR Therapy, and implements vital changes to the standard EMDR protocol to target clients’ sadness associated with their loss. In a majority of cases, clients will experience a perception of connection with their deceased loved-one, resulting in a profoundly healing transformation of their grief.
Counseling with a postpartum therapy specialist helps women to face many challenges as they adapt to changes associated with having a new baby. The joys of having a baby are often experienced as more difficult than most women anticipate. Bringing a baby into the family is naturally stressful. Unfortunately, many women blame themselves, struggle to adjust, are embarrassed to share their emotional experiences, and, ultimately, leads to isolation. Counseling assists with adjustment and quickens the path for a new mother's mood to improve.
